      <image:title>a former Fjordian - I mastered workshops</image:title>
      <image:caption>One of my favourite part was beingn a creator and facilitator in a series of workshops with teams, clients and stakeholders. In Fjord we called these workshops Rumbles and they are a unique way to set great minds in motion to tackle a problem. I also manage User Story Mapping workshops, where together with the developers we analyse gaps and priorities before entering the "Create" phase.</image:caption>

      <image:title>a former Fjordian - I practiced methodologies</image:title>
      <image:caption>In Fjord we practiced Service and UX design methodologies while developing new ones I invented and developed a method called "the mountain journey": a card mapping tool based on the Actant Model of Storytelling by Greimas. This method uses milestones, helpers, opponents, people and time cards to map user journeys.</image:caption>

      <image:title>I like to design for simplicity - It's all about microinteractions!</image:title>
      <image:caption>  For Codemoji, together with graphic designers and web developers I developed the information architecture of both the desktop and the mobile version, including onboarding and coachmarks. We rapidly prototyped the desktop and the mobile version using Java and tested the main functionality with A/B tests. Microinteractions were essential to distribute the cognitive load and to keep the experience engaging, we used them to explain the functionality behind encryption in the onboarding, and then in the page to give lead and rhythm to the experience. I designed all the micro interactions on the website, but it's when you see them in action that you realise how relevant these "little big details" are.</image:caption>

      <image:title>I like to design for simplicity</image:title>
      <image:caption>The challenge was to design something more similar to an app than a mobile version of the desktop website. For the desktop version the best solution was to distribute the information horizontally, following reading flow left to right. We also used a parallax page to better suit the activity flow and focus the attention on only one task or information at a time.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5a7630688c56a8f8f9e5ceb5/1518040821749-YIGMIM3OMRX2JX6ZHX7W/codemojisite-744x635.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>I like to design for simplicity</image:title>
      <image:caption>For the mobile version we changed the content distribution: following the same task flow used for the desktop we chose a vertical distribution, much more natural for the mobile context. The desktop version allowed us to use a complete set of emoji on screen for the key selection. Not having the same opportunity on mobile, we displayed a “selection” of random emoji expandable on a dedicated view tapping on a +. The tasks were anticipated in both versions by a dedicated onboarding and contextual coachmarks.</image:caption>

      <image:title>I like to design for simplicity - The future is #serendipity</image:title>
      <image:caption>  The project was commissioned by Fondazione Agnelli with the goal to record 50 videos from 50 experts –– from different fields ––that respond to the question "How is the world going to be in 50 years?". But, recording 50 videos from people all around the word was too expensive and that's why we decided to make them as "video calls from the future": using a face to face perspective and recreating the familiar look and feel of two people just divided by a screen.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>  The website shows the video in a special interactive gallery, inspired by the concept of "serendipity", designed to spark curiosity and suitable for both short and extended navigation. A journey to understand how Enel learns from nature to keep “Growing Smart Energy”. <image:title>sometimes I design for interactive exhibits too - Biggest challenge</image:title>
      <image:caption>  Find the right metaphor to explain why an energy company is at Expo Food District We had a hard time trying to find the right storytelling for the whole visiting experience at the Enel’s Pavillion. First we tried to compare energy and food calories, but I preferred to put the numbers aside and to develop a concept based on Enel’s values and a simple metaphor.  </image:caption>

      <image:title>sometimes I design for interactive exhibits too</image:title>
      <image:caption>It’s not a coincidence that “cultivate” and “culture” share the same linguistic root and with the invention of the Smart Meter and the Smart Grid, Enel became the leader of a new “energy culture”. Thus to develop such an innovative energetic system is like growing a fruit tree: planting the seed of innovation, growing the infrastructure tree, sharing the fruits. The metaphor was essential to tie together multiple contents on multiple media, in order to create a unique, remarkable story with multiple voices.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Egizio, a cross media communication campaign - It's more than just a communication campaign</image:title>
      <image:caption>  “It’s time to rediscover the treasures of the Egyptian Museum” was the idea behind this six months campaign. I developed the concept behind the public installation (the hourglass), the website (”before and after” the renovation) and the interactive robot and together with the creative and the engineering team I’ve followed the project until the publication.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Egizio, a cross media communication campaign</image:title>
      <image:caption>  The Hourglass is an imposing urban installation in Piazza San Carlo and it is a complex countdown for the re-opening of the Egyptian Museum. The Hourglass is not only a key-point of the campaign, but furthermore was the starting point of the concept development. The concept of time together with the element of sand and the idea of the rediscovering is concentrated in this installation, the main pillar of the whole campaign.  </image:caption>

      <image:title>Egizio, a cross media communication campaign</image:title>
      <image:caption>Lastly the hourglass represents both the hype for the re-opening and the presence of Compagnia di San Paolo on the territory: for six months people crossing the most important square in the city, were looking at the hourglass knowing the coming of the inauguration and the main sponsor of the re-opening.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>  EMS stands for “Energy Management System” made by Siemens for Enel. Enel and Siemens were looking for a way to simplify the concept of Energy Management System in order to transform the portal in a much more consumer oriented tool. This original tablet app was designed specifically for the energy management in Expo.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Scale the experience: tablet and mobile apps - Doha Tribeca Film Festival on Mobile</image:title>
      <image:caption>  The Doha Tribeca Film Festival app was designed for the 2012 edition of the festival and was complete with a “profile section” to bookmark and organise screenings and event attendance. As UX designer I investigated needs, users’ goals and content in order to design, together with the creative team, the information architecture of the app. I also designed Movie Mosaic, a sponsored game on a dedicated app to promote the film festival through Facebook. With Movie Mosaic I put in place and implemented different social networking and gamification techniques.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>  When I am not working directly with the dev team or I am preparing a demo to test on the go, I use Proto.io. In Fjord we are using the prototypes I make with Proto.io to better communicate with the Dev team, that is often located in another country, to build up proof of concepts, test the User Flows and to give a preview of the project to the stakeholders.  </image:caption>

      <image:caption>  ID2020, it's a project for UN made in collaboration with Microsoft, that wants to provide an universal an unique ID using the blockchain technology and the biometrics. The concept that we designed is composed by a website for the registration, a mobile app for the personal use and a 3rd party app for the validation. As the interaction designer of the team I developed the user flows and then I prototyped them for the website, the tablet and the mobile app using Proto.io. Once more the prototype has proved to be an excellent tool for communication and efficiency. Proto.io is my favourite prototyping tool for the availability of new features and pre-set, for the high compatibility with Sketch, the accessibility from single devices and the easy access to the prototype by url.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Keep calm and prototype - Atomic Design and Axure</image:title>
      <image:caption>  While I was in London I worked for Immediate Media, the biggest publishing company in UK. Their portfolio is counting more than 30 magazines: from BBC, niche-oriented publications, to RadioTimes. Each magazine was a challenge: different types of users, different devices and a new way to design the interface with minimum-effort. As a UX architect, I worked on the digitalisation of the magazines using Google Analytics, Atomic Design and prototyping a LOT. I used to prototype with Axure, to test the best combinations for the information architecture, transitions and User Flows.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Keep calm and prototype</image:title>
      <image:caption>  Using Atomic Design made things simpler: we were able to test and prototype components really quickly, to build up user flow and test them. Axure, was working fine most of the time, but I find it too restrictive in terms of functionalities and accessibility.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Keep calm and prototype</image:title>
      <image:caption>  While working with TODO we used to prototype a lot using Javascript, because it was quick to deliver implementations close to the expectations It's a designer and dev collaboration so communication is a key skill as much as setting up a good a "UX requirements page".</image:caption>

      <image:title>Keep calm and prototype</image:title>
      <image:caption>  From 2012 to 2016 I worked in the creative team that designed the whole Arduino Identity, from the boards, to the books and of course the website. For the website I participated in the preliminary analysis, the information architecture and its design. Designing for a website with many different sections such as: blog, education, language references, community forum and an online shop was a real challenge that needed to be prototyped.</image:caption>
